My Fortis education has made a big difference. I think it prepared me, number one, for being the nurse that I am, prepared me to go into critical care - my clinical experiences helped me on the floor when I first started.

My son is now 17 so he saw me go through college and I always hoped that I could show him, "this is hard work, so don't do what mom did and wait, go to college now, don't delay your education."

When I told my mom I was going to go to nursing school she said "Denise, this is what you have always been meant to do. This is what you are supposed to do."
