I decided to go back to school at this late age to study medical billing after being unemployed for two years. Prior to that, I was at a job for 21 years – until my position was downsized.

It was very scary starting school again after 30 years. I didn’t know if I was going to be able to do it. But the teachers at Fortis were great and helped me find an externship, which then became a full-time job for me. It feels great to have a new career path and I am excited for what the future will bring.
