I was a nurse actually. I was what they called a licensed practical nurse and have been a nurse for 21 years before I came back to school to pursue the Associates degree.

Getting the Associates degree was important because over the years I noticed that I was losing out on promotions, positions.

But the main reason for coming back to school was for positioning. Because I wanted to change positions, I wanted to do more for nursing.

I have learned so much from my children. You know as adults we don’t think we can learn from them but we do. They have encouraged me, they have been my cheerleaders.

When you have accomplished something it’s your job to help others accomplish something also.
